I have loved horses all my life but growing up in an apartment in downtown Vancouver, Washington didn't offer me much hope of every actually getting my own horse. When I was about 8, a great aunt told me that she believed I would have a horse one day! I guess hope and possibilities have always been a part of my life. I have always leaned to the 'crunchy' side. 45 years ago, my son came home from the hospital in a state of the art - for the time - infant carrier, I made all his food from scratch and we had a big garden. I was a stay at home mom working at making ends meet but we always had at least one dog, sometimes more. They made our home complete. Just to tell you how dog crazy we were, we even raised 3 guide dog puppies.
I had always been very active but as I got older, I was in more and more pain until I was taking between 6 and 8 Ibuprofen a day and I was also on 2 allergy meds and an anti-acid med and a blood pressure pill.
In 2015, I learned from a trusted friend that there was a better way than using all of the toxins that are allowed into our world and into our homes on the regular. That just because something was advertised as good for you or prescribed for you, it wasn’t necessarily safe and that included the food that I normally bought and the products that I used to clean our home and our bodies and the supplements that we took. We started off on a truly cleaner lifestyle, reading labels and looking up ingredients in all things.
And then, because of an incident with our dog, I learned that what I was doing to ‘keep my dog healthy’ really wasn’t doing that either. Same with our horses. There was a better way for them also. I have attended several conferences that focused on the natural health and healing offered to our animals as well and enjoy sharing that information with others. Letting them know that there is a more holistic way of living for us all.
